The first thing that stands out to me here is the fact that up to seven of these guys could wind up in Queens at some point in the 2014 season. This alone shows how quickly this team could change its makeup in the upcoming season.

A little different than my list at the moment.
Looks like He values upside while my list takes into account upside, recent performance, and proximity to the majors.
I too have moved Flexen into my Top 25. I left Mateo off though.
Any chance that Leathersich can overcome that disastrous promotion to the dreaded PCL last year, and be a legit lefty out of the bullpen?
Ernest:
I think "Leather's" K/9 ratio alone warrants him a trip to Queens someday, but he needs to hit the corners, something he hasn't masters especially at the AAA level.
There are very few free swingers at that level. not like A, A+, and AA where he built up his K/9 numbers.
Let him play Vegas in 2014
What I find incredible is that this organization, which has been lauded for its great depth of young arms, and kind of put down for it's dearth of position prospects, now has 8 of its top 10 prospects position players. OK, 9 of the second 10 are pitchers. Have we at least achieved some balance?
How about this fact:
9 of our top 10 prospects were acquired by Sandy Alderson.
6 of the 9 were drafted, only 3 were acquired by trade.
Does all that square with all the criticism of Alderson's stewardship?
Herb -
As I have said countless times, Alderson is building a wonderful base that will pan out around 2017.
I just would like to see them in the playoffs before we all die. :)
@Ernest
I do believe Leathersich will be fine. Every pitcher we have sent to Las Vegas has had control issues there due to the lack of humidity. Its very hard to grip the baseball out there.
Even Wheeler had a BB/9 rate above 4.0. The fact that he still maintained his K/9 rate above 15 bodes very well for him.
Plus the team doesn't have to rush him up because he still has this whole year before he's Rule 5 eligible.
@Herb
In terms of potential Yes.
However on my personal list I still have 7 pitchers and 3 position players in my Top 10.
However 4 of those pitchers could very well be with the big league club by the All-Star break.
Herb I agree with you about Alderson, I think we now have the beginnings of a very good player development system.
