Just an absolutely weird Friday for
quality college pitching.
RHP
Luke Weaver attracted 50+ scouts at Clemson and,
frankly, just stunk up the joint: 7.0-IP, 11-H, 6-ER3-K, 1-BB. Weaver really
hurt his chances to be an early first round pick in June.
Think
that’s weird? Everybody’s consensus #1 overall pick, NC State LHP Carlos Rodon, gave up 8-R in 4.1-IP. Yes, they were
all unearned but eight runs are eight runs.
Vanderbilt’s
RHP Tyler Beede is thought to be the top RHP in
this draft. Well, that just may be questioned after tonight’s 11-H, 5-ER in
only 2.2-IP.
Eastern
Carolina Jeff Hoffman ‘sort of’ got back on
track: 7.0-IP, 3-ER
Even
Kentucky’s A.J.Reed gave up 3-ER in 8.0-IP
Some
highlights –
LSU
RHP Aaron Nola – 6.2-IP, 2-H, 0-R
Ole
Miss Chris Ellis – 7.1-IP, 0-ER
