- Dillon Gee appears headed for his first career Opening Day start.
Gee is due to face the Minnesota Twins on Friday in Fort Myers.
Ten days later -- or two full turns of the rotation -- is March 31. That's Opening Day against the Washington Nationals.
Mets insiders acknowledged that is the current plan, but insist it is not cemented yet.

I'd be ok with it. He's been a pretty steady kind of guy.
He can go out and give you a quality start.....
It's then up to the offense to manage 3-4 runs against Strasburg, and up to Terry Collins to use the bullpen correctly.
Your asking for a lot there Ernest....
I've been with Dillon since his father used to follow the blog and he wore numbers in the 60s in ST... one of the nicest families you would ever meet... no one every expected 'this Dillon" to make it... all the press went to Dylan Owen...
A man can dream, can't he......
