Glad to see Cohen handle this situation with speed, clarity, and decisiveness.
Porter is a dirtbag.
I see some headlines that state, "Mets Fire GM Over Texting Issues" and such.
No, no, that's not it. Porter was a bully and a creep and this was a prolonged case of sexual harassment, very possibly tinged with racism and white privilege. Intolerable behavior. Cohen and the Mets did the right thing.
Here was a female reporter, a guest in this country, with an uncertain grasp of English -- and Porter was nothing short of abusive and disgusting.
Now back to baseball.

With all the negative publicity out there about Porter, I can see Cohen overspending on Springer right away to try the best he can to turn the page. Or at least take over the back page of the negative publicity.
Zozo - Apparently Toronto is confident that they will get Springer but I agree with you and do not thonk Cohen will be out bid.
