Mack's spin -

I have to tell you... I've read a lot of paper on prospects this year and I simply have not seen a thing written about this slugger.

I never heard of him before draft day. but I sure as liking what I am reading now.

It seems to me if he could cut down on his whiffs, well, we might have something here.

Such drastic differences between the results in the two different conferences…. Can’t give an approval here…

Wold is legit. Been a friend of the family for over 40 years and this kid is as baseball as it gets. If he wasn't the youngest starter on his team at every level, he was the best player on the team. So, it only goes to reason, that's what happened at UNLV. From frosh starter at DH with a team filled with 8 draft picks to moving into 1B and taking a premier closer in Staford off the wall in dead-center to cutting down K's at an elite level and so on and so forth. His senior season saw him put his team on his back as evidenced by a 3-game series vs SDSU in which he went 10 for 15 with 3 HR, 3 Doubles, 3 Singles, and a Triple. Had a walk off hit more times that I can remember. If you have a couple minutes, watch the following Las Vegas news capsule on a rising star out of the Nevada desert: https://www.8newsnow.com/sports/local-sports/wold-vs-the-world-homegrown-star-drafted-by-ny-mets-ready-to-play-at-professional-level/

A ringing endorsement if there ever was one. Now I want to see Wold in action.
