Aidan Keenan is a right-handed pitcher in the New York Mets organization, selected in the 7th round (210th overall) of the 2026 MLB Draft out of Stanford University. Background and Amateur Career
- Born: March 7, 2005 (age 21 as of mid-2026); from Morgan Hill, Ca.
- Physical: 6'2", 202 lbs; bats/throws right.
- High school: Live Oak HS (Morgan Hill, CA). Strong senior year (2023): 0.74 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 75 K in 47 IP. League Pitcher of the Year, team MVP, and other honors. Ranked among California’s top RHPs (around No. 4 in state by Perfect Game). He had draft interest as a prep but honored a strong Stanford commitment and did not sign in 2023. Also played basketball and football.
- Family: Older brother Tyler was a 4th-round pick by the Mariners in 2020 out of Ole Miss.
- College (Stanford Cardinal):
- Freshman (2024): Limited role — 5 appearances (2 starts), 6.75 ERA, 6.2 IP, 7 K, 10 BB.
- Sophomore (2025): Primarily a reliever — team-high 24 appearances, 2-3 record, 5 saves (team-best), 5.59 ERA, 37 IP, 43 K, 14 BB. ACC All-Academic Team.
- Junior (2026): Moved into the rotation but limited by an oblique injury in mid-March. 7 appearances (6 starts), 1-3, 5.82 ERA, 21.2 IP, 25 K, 21 BB. Appeared in a couple of Cape Cod League games for the Falmouth Commodores afterward.
- Career college totals: roughly 65.1 IP, 5.79 ERA, 75 K, 45 BB across 36 appearances (8 starts).
Main pitches:
- Fastball: Mid-90s (sits ~94–96), touches 98–99 mph (and ~97 in early pro work). Features riding life/explosion; potential plus offering but command is the limiter.
- Sweeping slider / sweeper: Mid-80s, high-spin. Best secondary; tight vertical drop + strong horizontal movement. Primary out-pitch.
- Cutter: High-80s with tighter horizontal action; used to induce weak contact.
- Changeup: Developing; two variants reported (high-80s circle change with run; low-80s split-change with more drop). Used sparingly in games so far.

Love those high spin guys - McLean is the best of them.
He is a pitcher, hence he will make the majors
