There will be more
moves this season. My phone calls recently tell me the following will happen, though
I must say I can be very wrong in this area because it is all based on
speculation and lack of injuries.
Sandy Alderson does not
allow great players to be blocked:
3B-1B-OF Erik Campbell – Binghmton to Buffalo – acutally taking
over from Josh Satin as the Rodney Dangerfield of the organization. The numbers
are unreal. He should have been promoted before the season started.
SP Matt Harvey – Buffalo to New York Mets – As early as
this weekend, as late as September. The Harvey-era is about to begin.
SP Zack Wheeler – Binghamton to Buffalo – As Harvey
moves, so will Wheeler. AAA ready right now.
1B-2B Josh Satin – Buffalo to New York Mets – Josh will
return to Queens in September if, for no other reason, because he has earned
the check.
2B Reese Havens – Binghamton to Buffalo – Yes, Reese
Havens. Forget the bad start. He’s at least AAA ready and will compete come
spring for the Queens 2B job.
SP Michael Fulmer – Savannah to St. Lucie – The Mets must
remain in the peking order so he will play Lucy before Mateo. Carries himself
like a 25-year old.
SP Luis Mateo – Brooklyn to Savannah – the 23-year old
should be in St. Lucie, but we all need to see him, at least, in Savannah this
season to see if the legend is real.
RP TJ Chism – Savannah to St. Lucie – has earned the
promotion throughout the season.
RP Jon Mincone – Brooklyn to Savannah – we’re going to do
a feature on him before the week is up. Looks like the real deal, though it is
early.
SP Steve Matz – Kingsport to Brooklyn – “hitting” 99…
bring it home to Brooklyn.
