Steve Cohen can't officially take over the #Mets until the #MLB votes their approval at their Nov 11-14 meetings. The MLB needs that time to do a deep dive on his finances. No, they aren't going to vote by Zoom. Plans are for Cohen to make an in-person presentation before vote.

Cohen is buying an additional 72% of the team in a deal that values the team at $2.35B. He already owns 8%. He will then own a total of 80% of the #Mets
— Laura Goldman (@laurasgoldman) September 7, 2020
I always heard that Cohen was buying 80%. @soshnick reported 95%. His report looks like it was inaccurate.

To build the right team, you can't just throw money around. I'd say the #Mets fans will find that out the hard way, but they'll be run properly. You can't go over the luxury tax if you want a long term contender.
Mets P prospect Marcel Renteria hitting 96-97 MPH in training. A converted starter, Marcel is now making a commitment to using his entire arsenal of pitches after perhaps relying to heavily on 2 last season. Hes now instantly an upper minors reliever to keep eye on in 2021. https://t.co/6ETVoi7Jtj

Always good to remember that before Seaver broke Koosman's season wins record in 1969, Koosman broke Seaver's one year old wins record when he won 19 in 1968.
Galen Cisco - now there is a baseball name for ya. He didn't win many for the early 60s amazins.
Boys broke out the lumber yesterday - hitting .275 now. Can they climb to .290 by season's end? Why not? This team is simply loaded with hitters - even without some guy who traps wild boars.
Jake shows real humility in considering himself not quite yest the equal of Tom Seaver. Imagine for a second how much lower Seaver's career ERA would have been if he knew he only was expected to go 7 innings, occasionally 8. And aired it out that much more in his shorter innings.
Jake 35 swings and misses? In just 7 innings? That's insane.
I wrote a while back that this would be the year Dom Smith would, at the same age, match the break out year of Adrian Gonzales. I think I was wrong - Smith might be surpassing Adrian. He could have a hard time winning the MVP against Soto and Tatis - but he could do it.
Love the defense first lineup with Gimenez and Dom Smith. It will be interesting to see how this goes down the stretch and how the Mets do.
