A Statement From Mack

I am sharing something my writers have known for a few weeks.

I am now retired as a Mets writer on Mack's Mets.

I will continue to write about the draft prospects on Sunday, but nothing else.

All writers will be responsible for the content of their own posts.

I will assist John From Albany on the placements of the post.

In closing, I began doing this in, around 2005  It has been an honor serving all of you with my insight.

It is time.

Good luck in retirement from Blogging my friend. Unfortunately our lovely team stays with you like marriage, until death do us part.

Great Job throughout the years, this is and always will be the first thing I check in the morning when I wake up, and take me away from the real world problems. Thank you so much for getting me hooked all these years.

Sounds like a plan after many years of tremendous work. And more great stuff to come.

Looking at the picture again, it may have been Mack's first attempt at live streaming!

Kidding aside, Mack's written more about draftees than anyone I know. And done it real well. It is what first drew me to the site.

Mack- besides you, I've been here the longest, dating back to my days when I ran my own blog, Shea Nation, and also did baseball book reviews here. We've been through the ringer with this team, with this organization, with life, and the one thing about this site that you can ALWAYS hang your hat on is that you were the FIRST - AND ONLY CONSISTENT ONE - TO COVER THE MINOR LEAGUES, THE DRAFT, THE COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL TALENT, IN THE DEPTH AND CONSISTENCY IN WHICH YOU DO IT!!!

Even though it wasn't your career, no one would have known it because your ability to scout and write about talent is top scout-worthy!!! And your ability to weather the storms of this team and all that life has thrown your way while doing it is also second-to-none.

Others have sold out, have pandered, or have given up; and still Mack's Mets moves forward. Whether you're writing once a week, once a month, once a year or once a decade, this is and will ALWAYS be, MACK'S METS!!!! But if I have ANYthing to say about it, I truly hope that the distance of retirement will bring you back more often to add in your well-observed wisdom and insights than once a week.

Mack- it's been a pleasure, it will remain a pleasure, to be a writer here, to have been an editor here, and most important, to be your friend from meeting you here those 15 years ago.

Now go root on those Giants tonight!!!!!!!

We will certainly miss your insights here, Mack. You have been a beacon of light in some dark times.

Enjoy your "retirement", but I have a feeling that you won't be able to fully resist commenting on topics near to your heart👍

I hope you enjoy your retirement, Mack. still, an enjoyable part of my day is going on line to read Mack's Mets, and a big part of it has been reading your commentary. with today's "other" big Mets announcement being the agreement to sell the team, I'm hoping that we're going to have improved fortunes in the years ahead, and, not to be selfish, I'm hoping that you'll continue to grace us with your inciteful analysis of the team. best of luck to you, one way or the other.

Mack,
Thank you. Through the years you've certainly lessened the burden of being a Met fan.
