Mack - Draft Thoughts - Karson Milbrandt, Nazier Mule, Issac Hill, Mikey Romero, Cade Doughty

8-10-21 - Shooter Hunt @ShooterHunt

There’s definitely some rawness but the arm talent is REAL for ‘22 RHP Karson Milbrandt (MO) Explosive 93-96 FB that hops.Long-limbed, wiry frame. Velo comes easy

Mack's spin -

Frankly, I don't have any paper on Milbrandt other than this blurb by Shooter.

He isn't on my board yet.

8-8-21 - BA  -

Nazier Mule, SS/RHP (New Jersey)

National and then showing one of the firmest fastballs at East Coast Pro, touching 98.

Mule is strong and athletic, with a 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame and plenty of natural strength and bat speed that translate to above-average raw power. Mule will occasionally run into an elevated pitch over the plate and drive it with impact, but his offensive approach is incredibly raw at the moment, with very questionable pitch selection, swing decisions and general swing-and-miss issues. Defensively, he flashes impressive actions that have led to a few highlight plays in the infield, with good body control and an ability to throw with strength and accuracy from multiple angles and positions. He doesn’t have an exceptionally quick first step or great side-to-side mobility, so third base might be a better fit, but his impressive natural arm strength could also allow him to play deeper than other shortstops.

Mack's spin -

We have written a fair amount on Mule (MOO-lay) so far and I expect we will have a lot more. A true legitimate 2-way player, though I have him on my board as my #3 SS.

8-9-21 - Shooter Hunt  @ShooterHunt

Clean/polished look at athletic ‘22 RHP Isaac Hill (OR) who comes out pouring in strikes at 87-89 (2300) w/ impressive backspin & some hop thru the zone.

Dropping in short 76-79 CB (11/5) for strikes & flashed quality changeup in warmups.

Mack's spin -

I have no other paper on Hill so he isn't on my board yet.

8-5-21 - Prospects Live

Mikey Romero

Romero might have been the loudest bat from the first group of the week and was undoubtedly one of the top performers of the entire week. He launched multiple balls deep to the pull-side, showing off his in-game power, and was one of the few hitters in his group to  be able to do damage early on at the showcase. He also showed good feel for the zone against some of the best arms in the class and an ability to extend at-bats with 2 strikes. The LSU commit’s profile is rounded out by an above-average 60 time (6.79) and a solid arm from the infield that showed good utility.

Mack's spin -

Everything I have read about this kid is positive.

Right now, he's my 17th SS on my list though that could easily improve as the year goes on.

 7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -

 30 Cade Doughty 3B LSU

Impressive freshman campaign manning the hot corner for the Tigers. Good defensive actions at third base, figures to comfortably stick on the dirt. Receives high marks for leadership.

Mack's spin -

I have reclassified Doughty from my 11th SS to my 9th 3Bman.

I wonder how heavily the Mets are currently scoping out the 2022 draft prospects right now.

The draft team works 12 months a year but the only playing has been done in summer leagues.

Still, they are out there trying to find future stars for other teams.

No.

Wait.

As Star Wars: The Old Republic’s design director Chris Schmidt explained, here is how Combat Styles works. If players want to get better results in battle, they need to buy SWTOR Credits at IGGM.COM.
