Michalle Mercedes is a
17-year-old shortstop (born November 8, 2008) in the New York Mets
organization. He signed with the Mets as an international free agent from the
Dominican Republic in January 2026 on a minor-league contract (reported $50,000
signing bonus).

Bravo is a very raw, toolsy left-handed hitter and thrower
with a projectable frame.

Matt Rudick (full name:
Matthew Jon Rudick) is a 27-year-old outfielder in the New York Mets
organization.
Born: July 2, 1998, in San Diego, CA.
Bats/Throws: Left/Left.
Size: Listed at about 5'7", 170 lbs (sometimes noted as
5'6").
He had a strong college career at San Diego State, where he
hit over .300 in his first three seasons and posted an outstanding .410/.484/.567 line with 61 runs, 17 steals, and
just 9 strikeouts in 43 games as a redshirt junior in 2021. He earned
All-American honors and was known for elite contact skills, plate discipline,
and on-base ability.
The Mets drafted him in the 13th round (382nd overall) of
the 2021 MLB Draft and signed him for $125,000.
He has spent his entire pro career in the Mets system,
primarily as an outfielder (with time in center and left field).
Key minor league highlights include:
Strong contact-oriented approach with low strikeout rates
and good walk rates.

January 2026.
He signed for $3.9 million as
one of the top players in the 2026 international signing class (often ranked
No. 2 overall by MLB Pipeline).
He was originally committed to the Yankees but backed out
after changes in their international scouting department and signed with the
Mets instead.
The Mets have had recent success landing top international
talent, such as Elian Peña the prior year.

Good piece on Wandy. No negatives…the young man is 16. I am hoping he gets stateside next year. That would be a great sign. I keep hoping one of these young dudes is the next Juan Soto.
