2011 DRAFT: - Andrew Kittredge, Shawn Morimando, Andrew Gagnon, Aaron Brown... and Joseph Flynn

Andrew Kittredge:

7-26 from: - link  - Here are some names of draft eligibles for 2011 who have not been mentioned much and are definitely on the radar for 2011 MLB scouting depts. – RHP - Andrew Kittredge, Washington, 6'1 200, good arm strength and live fb, development of secondary pitches has improved as well.

Shawn Morimando:

7-29-10 from: - link  - LHP, Shawn Morimando, Ocean Lakes HS, Virginia, near Va Beach area, 5'11 170, smoooth lefty with mid to upper 80's live fb, good movemen away from RHH and sharp cb from 1/6 window, got hitters out front or looking, also threw a few solid straight changes with depth/sink, deception. Not very tall but was getting good leverage on a very warm and humid day. Early commit to ECU. One of top Va HS pitchers for 2011.

Andrew Gagnon:

7-30-10 from: - link  - • Andrew Gagnon, RHP, Long Beach State -- One of the more complete pitchers to throw on Wednesday, Gagnon showed off a crisp 90-92 mph fastball with good two seam action. He also mixed a quality 78-79 mph changeup and generally an excellent feel for all his pitches.

Aaron Brown:

8-1 from: - link -answered#comments - He’s a two-way player listed on the UA roster as an outfielder, and that’s typically the way scouts prefer at this moment. Comes from the same Chatsworth program that produced Mike Moustakas and Matt Dominguez 3 years ago. On the hitting side, he’s a potential high-level bat, but he’s not extremely athletic. Best as a future right fielder with an above-average arm, power bat (55/60 potential raw power), will need time to adjust to pro pitching. Fringe-average runner. On the mound, he’s a potential #4, sits 86-89 most of the time, has touched 91-92. Could easily sneak up with some development next spring.

Joseph Flynn:

8-2 from: - link  - COCA COLA PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Joseph Flynn (2012), Wareham RHP - Joseph Flynn (Franklin Pierce) of Wareham has embraced his new role as starter, earning the Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week honor in his first week on the job. Before the beginning of this week, Flynn had been a reliable middle reliever for the Gatemen, allowing five earned runs in 12.1 innings over nine appearances. But in his two starts this week, Flynn proved he belongs in the starting rotation. On July 25, he received a no-decision for six strong innings, allowing only one earned run. Five days later, he earned a win with seven shutout innings of three-hit ball. His efforts lowered his ERA to 2.13, good for third on the Gatemen staff. The Plymouth native was a two-time Boston Globe Player of the Year. He went 5-2 in 12 starts as a freshman this year Franklin Pierce University.

Flynn is not draft-eligible in 2011... He just finished his freshman year at FPU, he'll be available in the 2012 draft... Kid can throw though.
