LAST GAME: For the first time in 2010, the B-Mets lost a game

started by Josh Stinson Sunday at Waterfront Park with a 5-3

shortcoming. Binghamton was previously 12-0 in games

started by the right-hander. He was charged with the loss after

allowing four runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings. Trenton

struck for two runs in the third on an Austin Romine RBI single

and a Rene Rivera sac fly to center. Justin Snyder knocked

Stinson out of the game in the sixth with a two-run homer to

right. The B-Mets got back within a run in the seventh as the

first three hitters reached via singles against starter D.J.

Mitchell. He was pulled in favor of George Kontos, who gave

up a bases-clearing double to Brahiam Maldonado. Binghamton

would get no closer though as two Thunder reliever combined

to retire the final six hitters of the game in order. Josh

Satin led the B-Mets with a 2-3 showing. Mitchell was credited

with the win and Ryan Pope picked up the save with a 1-2-3

ninth, his ninth of the season.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mark Cohoon takes the

ball for the B-Mets tonight for his ninth start. He tossed 5.2

innings in his last start against Harrisburg, August 3 at NYSEG

Stadium. The southpaw allowed four runs (two earned) on

seven hits in the no-decision. Cohoon is 1-3 with a 6.63 ERA

over 38 innings with Binghamton. He opened the season with

Savannah and racked up a 7-1 mark and a measly 1.30 ERA

over 13 starts (90.1 IP). His ERA paced the South Atlantic

League, as did his three shutouts. Cohoon was a New York-

Penn League All-Star last season with Brooklyn (SS-A) thanks

to a 9-2 record and a 2.15 ERA over 92 innings. The Mets

drafted him in the 12th round of the June 2008 draft out of

North Central Texas College.

RHP Brad Peacock will make his second straight start against

the B-Mets tonight. He earned a win over Binghamton August

3 despite allowing five runs on seven hits over five innings.

With Harrisburg, he is 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA over 12 innings.

Peacock made 19 appearances (18 starts) with Potomac

opening the season and carried a 4-9 mark and a 4.44 ERA

over 103.1 innings. The right-hander signed as a draft and

follow in 2007 after being drafted in the 41st round of the

June 2006 draft out of Palm Beach Community College (FL)
