Eric Niesen tossed a scoreless sixth before the wheels fell off in the seventh. The Senators sent nine men to the plate and scored three runs without the benefit of a single hit. Reese Havens’ two-run home run in the seventh was not enough. In the night-cap, the B-Mets jumped out to a three-run lead with back-to-back home runs from Josh Satin and Bubba Bell in the first inning. Satin kicked the lead to four with a solo shot in the third. Roy Merritt tossed four shutout innings in his first pro start. The Senators started their comeback with a pair of runs off Ricky Brooks in the fifth. Turgeon took over in the seventh and allowed back-to-back doubles to start the frame. A pair of sac flies brought Harrisburg within one. After a two-out single, Derek Norris provided a pinch-hit home run to give the visiting team the lead for good. Chris Rahl added a homer for insur-ance. The B-Mets scored a run and had the tying run on base in the seventh, but Pat McCoy struck out Salomon Manriquez to end the ballgame.

A DAY FOR HOME RUN FEATS: The Binghamton Mets slugged five homers in the doubleheader yesterday. Jordany Valdespin picked up the first B-Met pinch-hit home run of the season in game one. Josh Satin and Bubba Bell became the first B-Mets to hit back-to-back homers with their pair in game two.
