Gary Apple to Serve as New Studio Host for Pepsi Max Pre-Game Live and W.B. Mason Post Game Live
[New York, March 4, 2014] – SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets and all things New York sports, today announced the network’s comprehensive slate of regular season coverage for the 2014 New York Mets. SNY’s Emmy Award-winning Mets broadcasts will feature more than 130 exclusive games premiering Monday, March 31st with the season-opener against the Washington Nationals with coverage beginning at 11:30am with Mets First Pitch presented by Cadillac.
SNY’s multi-award winning broadcast team featuring Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez and Gary Cohen will once again call all the action from the booth, while Kevin Burkhardt returns as the network’s Mets field reporter providing in-game interviews and features with players, coaches and other personalities. Emmy Award-winning producer and director team – Gregg Picker and Bill Webb – continue in their roles for all SNY-produced Mets telecasts.
Current host of SNY’s college basketball pre-game, half-time and post-game shows, Gary Apple will now anchor Pepsi Max Pre-Game Live and W.B. Mason Post Game Live alongside lead studio analyst Bob Ojeda with former Mets Manager Bobby Valentine and former General Manager Jim Duquette returning as regular contributors throughout the year to offer their unique perspective and insight as guest studio analysts. Emanating from SNY’s street-level studio in the heart of Manhattan, Pepsi Max Pre-Game will air prior to all SNY broadcasts while W.B. Mason Post Game Live follows every game – including Mets games on PIX11, FOX and ESPN.
Mets First Pitch, which airs immediately before most telecasts of Pepsi Pre-Game Live, contains pre-game press conferences with Terry Collins, in-depth player profiles and exclusive instructional segments with Gary, Keith and Ron. Mets Insider, the network’s popular magazine style series, hosted by Kaitlin Monte and featuring a variety of topics including Mets draft prospects, player profiles, “Where are they Now” segments and much more, returns Monday, March 24 at 1:00pm.
