Nolan Ryan...lets have a wing for players who became GREAT once they left.
Howard Johnson. He had alomost 1,000 hits as a Met and 192 Met Homers.
Being in a team's HOF isn't simply about what they did for the organization on the field. It also has to do with the fan regard for the player. HoJo was a great example of someone everyone in the Mets fanbase felt was a real solid performer. Curtis Granderson became one after a dismal first year. Personally, I think Rick Reed is a guy who deserves much greater accolades than he got.
Three great choices Reese. Rick Reed was a solid contributor to those late 90's, early 2000 teams.

How about Nelson Doubleday. He's probably the one most responsible for turning around the Mets in the 1980s. Too much bitterness with the Wilpons to make it happen though. They didn't even acknowledge his death when he passed away a few years ago.
