SS 5-7 160 Pepperdine
Mack's spin -
Young joins Jordan Yamamoto with ties to Hawaii.
You can't shake a stick at a .318, 3-year career batting average, regardless of what school he plays for or against.
He now has to first prove he can do this at the minor league

Young hit close to .500 out of high school in Hawaii and proved his bat-to-ball skills could also play at the collegiate level, with a .311/.357/.350 career slash line over 64 games with Pepperdine. As evidenced by his batting line, Young’s offensive value is almost entirely wrapped up in his batting average, as the 5-foot-7, 160-pound middle infielder rarely strikes out or walks and has an anemic power profile. Just 17 of his 87 career hits have been extra-base knocks, and he’s walked just 5.6 percent of the time. A strong Cape Cod League showing in 2019 was good for his resume, as Young hit .338/.416/.446 with Yarmouth-Dennis in 2019. Young is exceptionally quick on the defensive side of the ball and plays the game at a frenzied pace, but he profiles more as a second baseman in the long term thanks to below-average arm strength. He is an above-average runner who could provide some value on the bases as well, but he’s not a true burner.

Young is a pure hitter. .300+ hitter in two years at Pepperdine. Plays a reliable defense and projects to stay on the middle infield long-term. Diminuitive statue doesn't project to hit for much power, but screams super utility for big league club.

Wyatt Young dominated the Cape Cod league both offensively and defensively while playing for the Y-D Red Sox. His ability to adjust to the wooden bat so effortlessly and his ability to hit off of the nation's finest pitchers shows that he can play in any league. He is also an incredibly humble player off the field and was a fan favorite while he was on the Cape.
Look Wyatt up on the internet and it highlights his incredible work ethic in the batting cages (often in the very early hours before school).
His size and playing style makes him comparable to Dustin Pedroia - but after watching him play, I agree that he should find his niche as a utility player and I expect to see him debut in Queens no later than 2023.
