On the college side, a sleeper I'm keeping my eye on is Tennessee Tech shortstop Brett Roberts. Good frame (6-1, 180) with some bat speed still developing. Up-the-middle approach. Really good runner with base-stealing instincts. Can handle SS or 2B. .343/.375/.490 in 2021

Very impressive 2021 stat line, though, as I have said in the past, don't fall in love with small team stat lines from players hitting against small team pitchers.

8-13-21 - ProspectsLive - Sleeper Breakout Candidate -
JIMMY CROOKS, CATCHER, OKLAHOMA
Crooks wasn’t a highly recruited prospect coming out of Trinity High School (Euless, Texas) in 2019. He took his talents to McLennan College where in 23 games he slashed .319/.462/.458. Fast-forward to his first year with the Sooners in 2021 and Crooks picked up right where he left off. Over 53 games, the Oklahoma backstop slashed .287/.385/.502 with 10 homers and 18 doubles. It would have been an even louder campaign, but Crooks began to feel the effects of a full season in May, stumbling a bit over the final three weeks.
This kid can bang at the plate, as is evidenced by his 113 mph peak exit velocity in 2021. But it’s his approach that has me so intrigued. His 18.4 percent strikeout rate is good, not great, but for a college catcher, comparably speaking it’s pretty strong. He also walked close to 13 percent of the time. That K-rate, however, may be a bit misleading. Crooks posted a contact rate around 78 percent in 2021. He’s swinging at the right pitches, being patient, and when he’s swinging, for the most part, he’s putting the ball in play and with authority. Playing up the middle of the field is an obvious plus for Crooks who projects to stick behind the plate with an above average throwing arm (1.95-2.00 pop times) and pretty solid receiving skills. ……….

Dylan Ross, RHP, Georgia -
I talked about Dylan Ross quite a bit as a potential Day 2 pick for the 2021 MLB Draft out of a Florida JUCO. The big hard thowing right hander with a 100+ MPH fastball and a nasty splitter could shoot up the rankings with a strong performance at UGA considering his stuff is special.

Tristan Smith, LHP (South Carolina)
Smith is listed at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and throws from a three-quarter slot, with slight crossfiring action, but impressive arm speed and a balanced finish. At PG National, Smith was as locked in as you can get, firing fastballs in the 93-95 mph range from the left side, and locking batters up with a sharp breaking ball in the 79-81 mph range with two-plane bite in the 2200-2600 rpm range.
He showed tremendous feel to land the pitch in the zone for strikes. Smith’s feel for the pitch is so good that he’ll start pitching off of his breaking ball rather than his fastball at times, and that did hurt him a bit at East Coast Pro, when his fastball command lagged behind his breaking ball feel, and he looked a bit more scattered overall.

Zach Showalter
Showalter is considered a legitimate two-way talent, but we’ll be profiling him as a pitcher here. As you may have guessed, he’s a premium athlete who notched a plus run time in the 60 and showed smooth actions during outfield drills -- and not to mention the arm is a cannon. As expected, Showalter looks good on the mound with a simple, stretch-only delivery; the arm action is short and the arm is fast. He threw strikes and challenged hitters at PGN, not allowing a hit over his short outing. The fastball sat 90-93, touching 94 with a good slider in the upper-70s and mid-80s change rounding out the arsenal. We feel the arm is ahead of the bat right now and he could develop into one of the premier pitching prospects in the 2022 class.
