The Mets 3rd round selection in the 2008 First Year Player Draft is in just his third season as a pro. In 2009, he was named a Florida State League All-Star with Single-A St. Lucie. He hit .274 (132-482) with 35 doubles, five triples, 16 home runs and 71RBI in 123 games for St. Lucie and led the FSL with a .656 slugging percentage.

Bruney has not pitched since July 27. He is 0-1 with a 4.50ERA in nine starts with the Bisons (8.0IP, 9H, 7R, 4ER, 7BB, 7K).

the Mets refused to trade Kirk last week, even though he really only projects out as a 4th outfielder... needs to cut down on K's... can't see a place for him. Next year it's Betran, Pagan, and Bay... he could battle it out with F-Mart for 4th outfielder in ST
