So far, we have
identified six outfielders on six (6) teams:
Atlanta – Reed Johnson
Arizona
– A.J. Pollock
Baltimore – Nolan Reimold
Boston
– Jerry Sands
Chicago
Cubs – Brett Jackson
Chicago White Sox - Dayan Viciedo
We now move on to the
Cincinnati, who currently have six (6)
outfielders on their 40-man:
Jay
Bruce – lefty - $12mil+ through 2016 – MLB, 560-AB, 34/99
Shin-Soo
Choo – lefty – free agent in 2014 – 16/67 with Cleve/2012
Chris
Helsey – bats right – ARB-1 – MLB, 347-AB, .265
Ryan
Ludwick – bats right – just signed 2-yr, $15mil for 2013/2014 – MLB,
422-AB, .275
Xavier
Paul – lefty – ARB-1, MLB, 86-AB,
.314 -
Yorman
Rodriguez – bats right – 18th ranked prospect -
Prospects on the
watch:
Billy
Hamilton - #1 prospect – ETA: 2014 –
Ryan
LaMarre - #6 prospect – ETA: 2014 –
The Reds seem to have
solidified their starting outfield. Choo replaces the departed Drew Stubbs, Ludwick has signed a new 2-year deal, and
Bruce is going nowhere. It seems to me that Helsey is movable with Y-Rod and
X-Paul being utility outfielders.
Mets Target: Chris Helsey –
bats right… plays all three OF positions… .259 career MLB BA… 18-HR in 2011…
will play 2013 as 28-year old.
