In Search For An
Outfielder – Detroit Tigers
So far, we have
identified the following outfielders as possible targets for the Mets:
Atlanta – Reed Johnson
Arizona
– A.J. Pollock
Baltimore – Nolan Reimold
Boston
– Jerry Sands
Chicago
Cubs – Brett Jackson
Chicago White Sox - Dayan Viciedo
Cincinnati – Chris Heisey
Cleveland – Thomas Neal -
Colorado – Dexter Fowler
Pittsburgh – Jose Tabata
We now move on to the
Detroit Tigers. Who currently have six (6) outfielders on their 40-man:
Quinton
Berry – lefty – pre-ARB -
Brennan
Boesch – lefty – ARB-1 – MLB, 470-AB, 12-54, .240
Andy
Dirks – lefty – pre-ARB – MLB,
314-AB, .322
Avisail
Garcia – righty – pre-ARB – MLB, 47-AB, .319
Torii
Hunter – righty – $12mil/2013, $14mil/2014 -
Austin
Jackson – righty – ARB-1 MLB,
543-AB, 16-66
Also… Ryan Rayburn
plays both second base and LF - $1.7/2013 –
Jackson is your CFer…
Dirks is in left… and now you have
Hunter. One of the other guys will either play right or DH and my guess is that
Garcia is going to get elevated play time. This might leave Boesch exposed for
a trade, but the last thing the Mets need is another left handed outfielder
hitting .240.
