#91       Ty Peeples             OF, Franklin County (GA)

18/yrs old                6' 2"               175

COMMITTED - Georgia

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 55 | Run: 45 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 45

Early in his high school career, Peeples emerged as one of the top outfielders in the 2025 prep class. He looks the part with a pretty left-handed swing and a frame that resembles that of a young Christian Yelich, though his struggles on the showcase circuit last summer have clubs wondering if they can draft him early enough to lure him away from a Georgia commitment.

With Peeples' combination of bat speed and projectable strength, as well as a stroke designed to drive balls in the air to his pull side, he could grow into 25-homer power or more. To get there, he'll have to improve his timing at the plate after having swing-and-miss issues against all types of pitching last summer. He has a big leg kick and gets overly aggressive rather than allowing his pop to come naturally.

Peeples' instincts allow him to play a little quicker than his fringy speed on the bases and in the outfield. Nevertheless, he won't be a basestealing threat and almost certainly will have to move from center field to a corner in pro ball. His arm stands out more for its accuracy than its average arm strength.

32. Ty Peeples – OF

HT/WT: 6’2/185 | Bat/Throw: L/R | School: Franklin County (GA) | Commitment: Georgia | Age: 18.8

Peeples was a big riser as a junior in this class, and while he’s run into some warts this summer, he performed consistently across all stops and is a name to know in the state of Georgia.

We’ll start with the tools at the plate, which are as smooth as they come. It’s a gorgeous left-handed swing with quick hands, budding bat speed, and whippiness through the zone. He keeps it simple with little movement pre-pitch and he utilizes an optimized bat path and great rotation in his swing.

Adjustability to off-speed pitches is present, though he’ll need to manipulate the barrel moving forward. As he continues to grow, he’ll add more power, though there’s already present thump in the stick.

There’s a good chance that he’ll hit for average and power at the next level. Peeples has the tools to be a center fielder right now, though he’s destined for a corner outfield spot as he matures physically. He has very solid route running, above-average speed, and a strong, accurate arm. Peeples is committed to Georgia, less than an hour from his hometown of Lavonia.

2024 National Showcase

Ty Peeples is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lavonia, GA who attends Franklin County. Long and projectable build with good present strength and room for plenty more. Left handed hitter, starts from an upright stance with a short stride into contact, has an easy and fluid swing, low tension and loose, has lots of present bat speed and creates good separation through contact, has some lift to his path, mostly pull side contact, shows his power now but is going to mature into plenty more. 6.72 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, long strider, has good fundamental actions, gets his glove down early and field cleanly, makes on line throws from a high slot, gets behind his throws well. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Georgia. Selected to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.

In my opinion, Peeples is the best left-handed swing in the class. It’s a similar swing to that of Xavier Neyens, but much more controlled throughout. This summer, he showed an excellent ability to control the strike zone and not expand. Couple that with his propensity for getting his best swing off, and you have an extremely dangerous hitter with a high ceiling.

He sets up in a reasonably neutral, taller stance before going into a medium leg kick as he begins his load. Peeples does a great job of controlling his forward move throughout the swing, which allows him to consistently get his best swing off and put the ball in play in the air. He showed above-average bat speed on the summer circuit with advanced hit and power tools to boot.

It’s a enticing offensive skillset that should continue to get scouts’ attention as we work through the fall and spring. In the outfield, Peeples has solid speed and average arm strength. It’s a prototypical corner outfield profile, and as he continues to fill out his slim 6’2” 185lb frame, the arm strength and power outputs should keep improving.

We talked about Neyens's nice swing, but Peeples also has a smooth swing that is fun to watch. He’s risen up MLB Draft boards for 2025 fairly quickly, and we aren’t even into the next high school season.

Peeples has a good approach at the plate and a feel for the strike zone. He can get good barrel-to-ball thanks to his bat control and quick hands. He’s already got a good power presence, but with his frame, there is still tons of room to grow, which gives you a lot to project in the future.

Peeples has an accurate and on-point arm in the outfield and gets good reads on balls. He’s likely projected to be a corner outfield as he has the tools and athleticism to stick out there and be a presence.

We are on the board with our first HR of the week, courtesy of Ty Peeples (GA).

Really smooth swing, whippy barrel and hands, projectable frame. Gets a 90 MPH heater in the zone and he sends it halfway up the trees in RF for a 401-foot tank. 99 MPH off the bat.

Ty Peeples - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - August 14th: "He has a picturesque left-handed swing and plenty of room to add further strength to his 6'2", 185-pound frame, though his present power is already playable. Peeples has the speed and instincts to stick in center field, which only raises his ceiling further."

Baseball America - July 17th: "Peeples has a lean, athletic frame and hitterish traits. He has consistently performed at a high level, showing good rhythm and timing in a fluid, well-sequenced swing that’s quick, loose and whippy. He flashes over-the-fence power now without having to sell out his swing to do so, and has the strength projection and fast bat speed for more power to come."

There may not be a bigger rise over the past year in this class than Peeples. He's gotten more physical and there's more on the way, as his 6'2, 185 pound frame is still rather projectable.

We'll start with the tools at the plate, which are as smooth as they come. It's a gorgeous left-handed swing with quick hands, budding bat speed, and whippiness through the zone. He keeps it simple with little movement pre-pitch and he utilizes an optimized bat path and great rotation in his swing. Adjustability to off-speed pitches isn't a problem for him, either.

As he continues to grow, he'll add more power, though there's already present thump in the stick. There's a good chance that he'll hit for average and power at the next level. Peeples has the tools to be a center fielder right now, though he's destined for a corner outfield spot as he matures physically.
