B-Mets Return To Binghamton

The team returns to Binghamton ready for the start of its season and fully aware of the tragedy that happened in its professional hometown on Friday.

"I was very sad to hear what happened there," B-Mets manager Mako Oliveras said by phone on Friday night from the Mets' spring training in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The B-Mets broke camp on Friday and will be arriving in Binghamton over the next 24 hours for the start of the Eastern League season. The B-Mets open with a four-game series at defending league champion Trenton, starting at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday...

... The starting pitching rotation hasn't been finalized. But Oliveras said he thinks it could include Jose Sanchez, Dylan Owen, Mike Antonini, Ryan Coultas and possibly Fernando Nieve...

-Mack... interesting... no mention of Tobi Stoner, so I assume he will start the season on the IR with his arm problems... and where's Dillin Gee? ossibly Dillon impressed the hell out of Omar and is Buffal bound...

...among the hitters joining the B-Mets, Oliveras said he was impressed with shortstop Ruben Tejada, catcher Josh Thole, outfielder David Wabick and first baseman Lucas Duda.
