Bisons Activate Brandon Knight
Veteran went 5-1 with 2.28ERA with New Orleans in 2008

The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, today announced that RHP Brandon Knight has been activated from Brooklyn (A). He is scheduled to start for the Herd today against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.).

To make room on the roster, the New York Mets have released INF Rob Mackowiak.

Knight, 33, will make his Bisons debut this afternoon. He went 5-1 with a 2.28ERA in 12 games/5 starts with New Orleans (AAA) last season (43.1IP, 28H, 55K). He also made four appearances with the Mets in 2008, going 1-0 with a 5.25ERA (12.0IP, 10K).

Knight has a career 71-78 record with a 4.34ERA in 277 minor league games. He twice led the International League in strikeouts with Columbus (AAA): first in 2000 (138K) and again in 2001 (173). He went 1-0 with a 6.75ERA in two starts for the Bronze-medal winning Team USA in the Beijing Summer Olympics.

Mackowiak was 0-6 with an RBI in two games with the Bisons.
