Scranton 6, Buffalo 5

The Buffalo Bisons, Class Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, and the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees combined for five homeruns in a slugfest Monday, but it was the Yankees victorious in the end, 6-5.

Buffalo struck first when Bobby Kielty homered off Yankees starter Kei Igawa with one down in the second inning. The homerun was the second in as many hits for the Bisons, following Nick Evans' walk-off shot Sunday.

But the Herd fell behind the next half-inning. DH Eric Duncan took a four pitch walk to begin the top of the third. He was joined on base by Shelley Duncan and Austin Jackson after both players singled. Jackson's hit plated Eric Duncan for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's first run. The Yankees took the lead on the next batter when Justin Leone sent Brandon Knight's sixth offering over the leftfield fence. The three-run homer made it a 4-1 SWB lead.
