TODAY’S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the third game of a four-game series from PNC Field (1:05 p.m.). The series is tied a game apiece after the Yanks won 1-0 on Thursday night and the Herd rallied for a 7-6 victory last night. After tomorrow’s game, the Bisons will travel to Syracuse for a two-game set against the Chiefs. Wednesday is the team’s Home Opener against the Pawtucket Red Sox.

ROSTER MOVE: INF RUBEN TEJADA was optioned by the Mets today as INF JOSE REYES was activated by New York. Tejada was 1-6 (.167) in three games with the Mets after leading New York with 22 hits and 11 runs scored this spring. Tejada averaged .344 in his 26 exhibition games with the Mets. Tejada hit .289 with five home runs and 46RBI with Binghamton (AA) in 2009. To make roster room, INF LUIS HERNANDEZ has been transferred from the Bisons to Binghamton. Hernandez was hitless in two games for Buffalo.

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: INF RUBEN TEJADA joins the Bisons today at 20 years and 165 days old. That’s 13 days younger than OF FERNANDO MARTINEZ (20y, 178d) was when he debuted with the Bisons on Opening Day last season. Tejada is the youngest Bisons player since C ANGELO ENCARNACION (20y, 135d) played for Buffalo late in the 1993 season.

RALLY HERD: The Bisons earned the 7-6 victory last night despite trailing 6-2 to the Yankees entering the sixth inning. Last season, the Herd won just one game all season when trailing by four or more runs. Buffalo beat Lehigh Valley, 8-7, on May 25 despite trailing by four in the fourth inning. Buffalo had just 16 victories last season in games they trailed at any time.

METS UPDATE: The New York Mets (2-2) got two home runs each from OF JEFF FRANCOEUR and C ROD BARAJAS in an 8-2 victory over Washington last night. Francoeur finished the game with three RBI, while both Barajas’ homers were solo shots. RHP MIKE PELFRY earned the victory, allowing just two runs in six innings to the Nationals. Same two teams play at 1:10 p.m. today at Citi Field.
