TODAY’S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees for the third game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd won the series opener on Saturday, 2-0, before the Yankees rebounded with a 4-3, 10-inning victory yesterday. Following tomorrow’s game, the Bisons leave for a six-game roadtrip that starts with a pair of games in Rochester against the Red Wings.

vs. THE YANKS: The Bisons are 4-2 against the Yankees so far in 2010. The Herd began the season series by taking three of four from the Yanks in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, April 8-11. Dating back to last season, the Bisons have won seven of their last 10 matchups with the Yankees.

MOUND WORK: Despite yesterday’s loss, the Bisons’ pitching staff increased its leads as the International League’s best staff. Buffalo arms have posted a 2.18ERA over the first 10 games, almost a full run better than any other IL club. Louisville is currently second with a 3.07ERA. The pitching staff has allowed just 85 hits in 91.0 innings of work with 31 walks and 68 strikeouts.

HIT STREAK: OF JASON PRIDIE enters today’s game with a six-game hit streak. Pridie has hit .348 (8-23) since last Monday and has now reached base in all but one game for the Bisons. Yesterday, he led off the game with a home run. It was the Bisons first leadoff home run since INF ARGENIS REYES accomplished the feat on July 22, 2009 in Louisville.

ROSTER MOVE: RHP TOBI STONER was recalled by the Mets after the Bisons game yesterday. Stoner provided valuable help to the New York Mets pitching staff that threw 20 innings on Saturday. Stoner was 0-1 with a 4.32ERA in two starts for the Herd this season (8.1IP, 5K).

METS UPDATE: The Mets (4-8) fell to the Cardinals last night, 5-3. Former Bisons RHP TOBI STONER took the loss but pitched well and rescued an exhausted Mets’ bullpen with 2.1 innings of work. Recalled just before the game, Stoner allowed just one run on three hits. Tonight, the Mets start a 10-game homestand with the first of a four-game series with the Chicago Cubs (7:10).
