Minor Rags: Mike Hessman, Luke Montz, Elvin Ramirez... and Johan Figuereo

Bisons:

After a difficult season in 2009, veteran third baseman Mike Hessman of the Buffalo Bisons is giving some early indications that he may be headed back to his most productive form in the International League. The leading active minor league home run hitter, Hessman hit his second homer in two games and drove in three runs to lead the Herd to a 4-1 victory over the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Yankees here before a Sunday afternoon crowd of 3,145. - .buffalonews

B-Mets:

For all the damage Lonnie Chisenhall's bat has done to the Binghamton Mets through the first four games of the season, the back of his left shoulder made a key contribution Sunday in the Akron Aeros' 11-8 victory at NYSEG Stadium. With the bases loaded and one out in the fourth inning, Chisenhall grounded to B-Mets first baseman Nick Evans. His throw went home to record the second out, but the return throw from catcher Luke Montz deflected off Chisenhall to break up what would have been an inning-ending double play. - pressconnects

Lucy:

Kevin Mattison delivered a two-run single to cap a four-run eighth inning as the Jupiter Hammerheads rallied for a 6-3 victory against the St. Lucie Mets on Sunday afternoon at Digital Domain Park. The Mets lead 3-1 going into the seventh inning. Jupiter’s Chris Wade slugged a solo home run to narrow the gap to 3-2. The Hammerheads used four hits and two walks against St. Lucie reliever Elvin Ramirez (0-1) during the eighth inning. Richard Lucas had two hits and an RBI for the Mets. - .tcpalm.

Gnats:

Gnats right-hander Johan Figuereo took Jarek Cunningham's line drive off his pitching hand in the seventh inning. Figuereo continued to pitch, but was ineffective. He allowed a single, home run and a walk to the next four hitters before coming out of the game accompanied by team trainer Brad Hutson - savannahnow
