Mets Recall Bisons’ OF Jesus Feliciano
Feliciano was 13 plate appearances shy of leading
International League with .346 batting average
The New York Mets today announced that they have recalled OF JESUS FELICIANO from the Buffalo Bisons. Feliciano will take the roster spot of OF Jason Bay, who was placed on the disabled list by the Mets today, retroactive to July 26.
Feliciano, 31, will be making his second stint with the Mets this year. The outfielder was promoted from June 8 – July 11 for his major league debut and hit .291 (16-55) with seven runs scored in 21 games with New York.
With the Bisons this season, Feliciano hit .346 (85-246) with 16 doubles, one home run and 25RBI in 67 games. His average is just 13 plate appearances shy of qualifying as the International League’s top batting average. If it qualified, Feliciano’s average would be 26 points higher than any other batter in the league.
