Savannah starter Jimmy Fuller turned in six scoreless innings and Jet Butler
homered and drove in all three runs as the Sand Gnats defeated the Lexington
Legends 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Applebee's Park.
Fuller and Legends starter Tanner Bushue matched zeroes through three
innings before the Savannah broke on top in the fourth. Cesar Puello led
off with a double, and one out later, Jet Butler hit his first home run of
the season to put the Sand Gnats in front 2-0.
Savannah added another run in the eighth inning. With one out, Puello
doubled. He went to third as Travis Ozga reached on an error by first
baseman Kody Hinze, and scored as Butler grounded out to shortstop.
Fuller allowed four hits, struck out six and walked none in six innings.
Gabriel Zavala gave up three hits and one walk in two and two-thirds
innings, and Mike Powers got the final out to pick up his 13th save.
