deGrom, Matz and Walters were expected, but Goeddel comes out of the blue. I doubt Goeddel is in danger in the Rule V. I would have protected Allan Dykstra, Adam Kolarek, Cory Vaughn, and probably Daren Gorski before I proteced Goeddel.
Goeddel still has upside so I can't fault the move.
Hutch is just about good as gone though

They are probably saving cutting Q and Atchison for when they start signing/trading players.
Still need to make room for those moves.
