Do you think Kevin Plawecki is a tier 1 or 2 as far as a trade candidate to this point? I still think he is a 2 on the verge of a 1.

And same question for Wilmer Flores, I believe he is a 1 if he is in his original position of 3rd base. And do u guys think a Flores and Plawecki for Joc Pedersen deal is a fair one?

I know these type of trades don't normally happen, but I believe it helps both teams.

Mack – Good questions regarding a possible trade that makes sense for both teams.

Plawecki is determining his prospect level right now, this season. All he needs (IMO) is some seasoning and a few  rankings on the top 100 prospect lists that come out. I expect Baseball America to include them on their next spring.

Flores is a Tier 1 prospect, but still without a definable position. The Mets seem pretty committed to Duda-Murphy-Tejada-Wright in the infield and, unless some blockbuster Tulo-type trade comes along, I think Tejada is going to be the Mets 2014 shortstop.

I love your trade idea and it could work for the Dodgers. Trust me, they know what they have in Peterson and, even though they are loaded in the outfield, it’s going to cost the team that gets this trade done.

John Sickles on Dom Smith –

     Dominic Smith was drafted in the first round last June, 11th overall, from high school in Gardena, California. Scouts have been tracking him for years and it was no surprise that he went so early. The Mets didn’t have any problems signing him away from the University of Southern California, working out a $2,600,000 deal. Smith is a very polished hitter with sound strike zone judgment. Scouts expect he’ll hit for average and show a good on-base percentage at all levels. Although he doesn’t have blazing speed, Smith is a good athlete and an excellent defender at first base, perhaps capable of winning Gold Gloves. The main question for Smith is home run power: he’s strong, but is more of a line drive hitter at this point. He draws comparisons to James Loney. Mack – Smith has been a little overmatched this season in A-ball, but who isn’t getting used to ‘the grind’ of your first year in ‘full ball’. Is there anyone on Earth that wants to have to take a bus ride from New Jersey to Savannah and play the next day in the rain?

The Sand Gnats have been able to take the pressure off by playing Matt Oberste (.314) at first along with Smith (.217). The good news is it looks like he is settling in and has hit .323 in his last 10 games.

I’d be thrilled here with a .275 year ending batting average with a .330+ OBP.

Forget any home run power until possibly down the road once he bulks up.

Noah Syndergaard on his Wednesday night outing –

"It was one of those nights where I had everything working for me.My command was really good, I was able to command my fastball to both sides of the plate. My catcher, Juan Centeno, called a great game; we were on the same page the whole night.

I didn't use my curveball until the fourth inning. The first couple of innings, I was fastball-changeup. I was able to get them off my fastball when I needed to. You just want to throw your best stuff the first time through the order.

This was one of the best starts I've had my entire career. I was able to repeat my delivery. Sometimes I have a bit of a problem driving on my heels and causing the ball to cut a little bit. I was down in the zone more because I was using my legs more and getting good extension.

I just gotta not get complacent and become satisfied with that outing. You always want to get better each and every time out. I think I made some pretty good strides, but things can always get better.”

The most important thing you need to walk away with here is the fact that Syndergaard isn’t happy with an occasional excellent outing. This may be the turning point we’ve been looking for in a somewhat meh AAA season so far for Thor.

(one other thing… no one is dominating in Las Vegas played games more than Jacob deGrom)

Eno Sarris: Well I think he should work on the position, but the book on TDA is not done. 189 plate appearances, career, and the plate discipline is good.
