Las Vegas 5 - Reno 2

The Reno Aces (@Aces) were handed their fourth straight loss Sunday afternoon, falling 5-2 to the Las Vegas 51s at Cashman Field. The Aces - swept by the 51s, placing them in a 6-2 deficit in the Silver State Challenge - recorded five hits and had just one baserunner through the first five innings.
Like his predecessors in the series, left-hander Darin Gorski was dominant from the get-go.
Las Vegas' starters in the series had combined for 19 innings of two-run ball, leading to three victories. Sunday's matinee featured more of the same from Gorski who allowed just one single through the first five innings before allowing two unearned runs in the sixth.
Aces right-hander Blake Beavan dueled with Gorski through five frames of his own, escaping trouble in the first and third innings. The burly 26-year-old gave up two runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Matt Reynolds.
Down 2-0, Reno (9-15) rallied to tie the game in the top of the sixth, both runs coming in to score on a sacrifice fly by Peter O'Brien. With the bases loaded and one out, O'Brien lofted an offering from Gorski to shallow right. Travis Taijeron's throw to the plate arrived in time to get Trayvon Robinson, but the foot of Robinson kicked the ball free from Johnny Monell's glove. Cody Ransom (@ransom_cody), tagging from second to third on the play, raced home to even the game at two.
Las Vegas (16-8) came back in the home half with three runs of their own, all charged to Aces reliever Matt Reynolds (0-2). The southpaw gave up a single, walk and two-run double to Wilfredo Tovar before departing, failing to record an out in an appearance for the first time this season.
Facing Kevin Munson (@GOTMUNEY), third baseman Danny Muno knocked in the third run in the sixth on an infield single to second.
The Aces put two men on in the seventh and ninth innings, but relievers Scott Rice and Jon Velasquez were able to prevent further damage.
Reno left seven men on base and has now lost nine of their last 10 games. In their last nine games offensively, the Aces have scored four or less runs each time, a franchise-record.- team press release
