Leading the majors in HR by a SS, hovering around .250 (yes, his OBA is still too low) and he hasn't had a hot streak yet, and his defense over the past couple of weeks is vastly improved. Can we stop pretending that Flores at SS is this team's main problem?
Well Adam you're right......
We've all took some turns bashing Wilmer and Murph, but outside of Duda they are now the most productive hitters on the roster......so if Sandy and Co. Want he and Murph to stay where they are for their own stability then so be it.
Given Wright's uncertain future, I'm good with having Flores remain at SS until Cecchini is (hopefully) ready. At that point, he should be a good candidate for a move to 3B. With a year under his belt, it wouldn't surprise me if Flores 2016 looked something like .280 20-25, 80 with close to average defense. Meantime, we need more offense the Catcher spot (should be coming soon). 2016 should also bring Hererra full time, which may well be an upgrade over Murph oversall. The main area that I'd be looking at (hopefully this offseason) is a dynamic corner OF.
