6/21/15
Mets Minor League Games - 6-20-15
Minor League Player of The Night - Ricky Knapp
Honorable Mention - Messrs. Nimmo and Mazzilli
AAA - Las Vegas - (39-31) 2 - Fresno (42-27) 7
LHSP Darin Gorski - 4.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 4 BB, 3 K, 5.66
Recker hit his 2nd homer and Castellanos hit his 12th. Boyd 2-4 , with a double. Muno 2 walks and 0-3. Reynolds DNP.
A quiet night with the bats. The best that can be said for Gorski this season is that his bloated ERA is under 6.00, unlike that of Bowman and Pill.
The 4.30 Law Vegas team ERA is only that low because Matz, Below, and Syndergaard have combined AAA ERAs of about 2.00.
AA - New Hampshire 5 - (31-36) Binghamton (35-32) 4
RHSP Seth Lugo - 5.0-IP, 6-H, 5-R, 1-K, 0-BB, 4.15
2B L J Mazzilli - 4-5, 1-R, double, .265
CF Brandon Nimmo - 4-5, 1-R, 1-RBI, .316
4 New Hampshire pitchers combined to toss a tidy 16 hitter in defeating the B Mets.
The Mets in fact outhit their opposition 16-7 but we were only 2-15 with RISP, hence the loss.
Beautiful to see Mazz and Nimmo have 4 hits apiece.
A+ - St. Lucie - no game scheduled (all-star break)
A - Savannah - (38-31) 1 - Augusta (33-35) 0
RHSP Ricky Knapp - 7.2-IP, 5-H, 0-R, 8-K, 1-BB, 1.31
LHRP David Roseboom K'd 3 in the 9th for 8th save. 1.15!
Knapp struggled at St Lucie for a bit, but has been outstanding since being back in Savannah.
An unearned run won it for the Gnats.
Luis Guillorme 3 hits. Back up to .308
Low-A - Staten Island (1-1) 8 - Brooklyn (1-1) 3
RHSP Gaby Almonte - 5.0-IP, 8-H, 8-R, 3-K, 2-BB, 10.80
LF Emmanuel Zabala - 2-4, 2-R, .375
RHSP Craig Missigman - 2.0-IP, 1-H, 0-R, 1-K, 3-BB, 0.00
Almonte slipped to 7-18 in his minor league career to date.
Cyclones hitting just .189 after their first 2 games.
DSL teams continue to win frequently.
Rookie - DSL Mets-1 (10-9) 3 - DSL Rockies (8-11) 1
LHSP Daniel Guzman - 5.0-IP, 4-H, 0-R, 1-K, 1-BB, 3.86
LF Edy Gil - 2-4, .167
1B Domingo Martinez - 2-4, 1-R, 1-RBI, .301
Rookie - DSL Mets-2 (13-6) 5 - DSL Cubs (12-7) 2
RHSP Jose Geraldo - 4.2-IP, 3-H, 1-R, 2-K, 1-BB, 0.82
RF Grabiel Jimenez - 3-4, 1-RBI, .292
LF Luis Montero - 2-4, 1-R, double, 3-RBI, .218
GOAT: B Mets hitters lack of clutch hitting. And Gorski.

Nimmo coming around: 9 for 22, 2 walks, just 2 Ks in last 5 games.
Keep it up and join Conforto on the express train to Queens.
Akeel Morris with a perfect inning...way to rebound.
Been wondering why Duane Below's #s had not changed in a while. He threw back to back excellent complete games for Vegas, then a 6 inning, 2 run start on May 30.
But been on the 7 day DL since, for 21 days, along with his 2.28 ERA covering 47 innings. He could have been an emergency starter option if Mets ever needed one, so that might affect the "trade Niese" scenario a bit.
