SNY.TV: Analyzing what was broken for 2020 Mets and fixing it for 2021: “Catcher J.T. Realmuto is set for free agency, and is a true difference-maker behind the plate. At 29 years old (he'll turn 30 next March 18)…hitting .274/.336/.489 for the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies. He eclipsed 20 homers in both 2018 and 2019 and hit 11 in 47 games during the shortened 2020 season...An elite defender, Realmuto was in the 95th percentile in 2020 when it came to pitch-framing and led the majors in pop time in 2019...the time it takes a ball to travel from the moment it hits the catcher's mitt to the moment it hits an infielder's glove during a stolen base attempt.”

Metsmerized Online: Dreaming About The Huge Upgrade J.T. Realmuto Would Be. Among other things, Matt Musico looked at Realmuto’s fWAR vs. the Mets Catchers in 2018 – Mets Catchers -0.5, Realmuto, 4.9; 2019 - Mets Catchers 0.8, Realmuto, 5.7.

SNY.TV: Analyzing what was broken for 2020 Mets and fixing it for 2021: “The bullpen Liam Hendriks, Seth Lugo, Thomas Szapucki, and Alex Colome are among the external and internal options the Mets could turn to.”

Brian Joura Mets360: Poll: On retaining Luis Rojas as manager. Brian wonders if the blame for 2020’s decisions was Luis’ or BVW’s.  He also has a great quote from Davy Johnson on how he refused to micro-manage the clubhouse.

Metsmerized Online: What Does The Future Hold For Luis Rojas? “…if you watched the Mets in 2019, you saw an enthusiastic ball club. Something was missing from the 2020 team. The players were essentially the same, but the attitude was much different. The manager sets the tone for the team, and the Mets appeared flat and uninspired for much of the season.”

Justin Toscano North Jersey.com: The case for and against keeping Brodie Van Wagenen in an ownership transition. Case for keeping him - Wilpons leaving could make his job easier; He won’t be leading baseball operations; He's familiar with the organization's current state; Case against keeping him - His efforts fell flat; He traded away the future; New bosses want new faces.

Rising Apple: New York Mets final report card grades for the 2020 season.  Jacob deGrom, Dominic Smith, and Michael Conforto all get A+.  Luis Rojas gets a B; BVW an F.

Mike Phillips The Sports Daily: New York Mets' 2020 Season in Review: Team MVP. Mike’s choice - Michael Conforto.

Rising Apple: J.D. Davis is only getting traded if Brodie Van Wagenen is fired.

NY Post: Bobby Jones’ big Mets anniversary bittersweet after Tom Seaver’s passing.

Jay Horowitz Mets Insider Blog: Bobby Jones’ Great Turnaroun. On the 20’th anniversary of his one hit playoff shutout over the Giants, Booby talks about being sent to the minors in 2000 and straightening out his mechanics.

Rising Apple: Mets shortstop Amed Rosario did nothing to advance his plot positively.

Amazing Avenue: The 2020 Mets were a lesson in the importance of starting pitching depth. The Mets did not, in fact, have the deepest starting rotation in baseball.

Empire Sports Media: New York Mets Player Evaluations: Shortstop Amed Rosario.

MLB trade Rumors: Qualifying Offer Value Set At $18.9 Million. “Starting pitchers Kevin Gausman and Marcus Stroman seem unlikely to receive offers from the Giants and Mets, respectively, but they’re plausible candidates. So too are Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons and Phillies infielder Didi Gregorius, among others.”

MLB Trade Rumors: KBO’s Kiwoom Heroes To Post Ha-Seong Kim This Offseason. Dating back to Opening Day 2019, Kim is a .306/.392/.505 hitter — good for a 141 wRC+. In 2020, Kim has slugged a career-high 27 homers, walked more often than he’s struck out (67 to 58) and gone a perfect 21-for-21 in stolen bases.

They have Will Smith but we have Dom Smith.

d’Arnaud is better offensively than Realmuto. But get Realmuto, just make sure that he and Jed Lowrie are not related.

In word association games no one shouts PLAYOFFS when the word Mets is said.

Pulsipher could pitch for the 2021 Mets. He has Matz beat.

Saw Pulsipher and Isringhausen pitch for the B-Mets in the mid-90's. Thought they would be rotation mainstays for a long time. Too bad Bill got hurt. Last I heard his son was pitching for SUNY Stonybrook. Maybe we will get to see him in the minors.

d'Arnaud, Pulsipher and Isringhausen prove everyday that can not project in this game.
