Predicting Mets' 2021 Opening Day roster.
You can pretty much guess Anthony DiComo’s prediction but his 5 man rotation
is Jacob deGrom, Marcus Stroman, Carlos
Carrasco, Taijuan
Walker, Joey
Lucchesi - no David
Peterson. Plus, he has Drew Smith and Robert Gsellman in the Pen.

- So Tom Seaver made less per start that season than Trevor Bauer will make PER PITCH.
Steve Cohen IS RIGHT - the Mets are much improved. All it took was ripping up a Wilpon budget and replacing it with a real one.
In the Wilpon Era, David Peterson would have bee a shoe-in for a starter's role. On this team, they may want him to get more seasoning. He may or may not need it. But the new Mets are realistic that for instance a player like Peterson might be caught up to a bit by the league.
Lucchesi with just one more option so it makes sense he may get the nod over Peterson initially. Clint Frazier on the Yanks is the type of player the Mets would not have had in the minors from 2017-19, but Frazier played 190 games in the minors those 3 years. Good teams have a few good players in the minors to call up as they need them.
That play at the plate is about as close as you can get. It almost looks like Yogi had him.
I am still just a little perplexed - David Peterson doesn't seem to ever have been treated like a #1 draft pick. I think he might still be a bit under the radar and is destined for bigger things than many people project.
0 to 99, I'll take the Mets staff over anybody, especially east of California.
What is up with Pillar? He has not been officially announced. I haven't heard anything about any issues. Anybody heard anything else?
69 - Tmw is supposed to be the first full squad workout. Just my speculation, since the Mets will need to make a roster move to add him, the Mets could be waiting for then to make a move. Either Lugo will need to go on the DL or someone will need to be released.
Still say Jackie was safe. Yogi dropped his glove straight down and Jackie caught the corner first.
Thanks for the comment BTB. I agree Jackie was safe. Yogi had to hold the ball in the glove with his other hand. I think that split second was the difference. Harold Reynolds and Joe Giradi did an in-depth analysis of the play on MLB Network and they concluded that had Yogi used the gloves catchers use today which allows for one handed grabs, he might have been out.
Yes, John, it probably is a timing thing with Pillar. Expect to see a move by morning.
I agree - if Yogi didn't have to have his right hand involved, it may have been a different outcome.
You don't see straight steals of home very often any more. Heck, not a lot of steals of any base any more.
