All sounding good - Betances velocity up, Pete ready, Cookie in camp, Luis ready to rock, Matt den Dekker back as OF coach, Stroman coaching Allean, and ... Jordan Humphreys claimed by the Giants?.

Mets badly need Betances to be good.

If I were to go to spring training some time, before the games start would be the best time to go. It appears players are more relaxed, just looking at the goings on. There isn’t much to do yet, the stories are pretty repetitive and there’s about 55 players that deserve a spot. I can’t imagine the decision making that will be needed for Hunter, Montgomery, Eickoff, and Vizcaino. And I don’t want to see Blevins on the team, taking up a roster spot.

Is it me or are most player’s interviews more thoughtful and interesting but Alonso’s always turn into rah-rah sessions of jockism? I think I need to step away from this team for a week because I’m just getting burned out of listening to nothing trying to sound like something.

I don't think any Met can be more under the radar than Luis Rojas is right now. Thinking back, no news is good news.

Thanks for the comments - BTB, looks like Bill Madden this weekend is the first to officially put Luis Rojas on the Hot Seat (aside from our own Ray Savage and others here). Seeing how long Sandy kept Terry Collins, I think Luis would have a long leash but with the new owner, you never know. As Steve Cohen has said that he does not like people earning on his dime so that could possibly mean a manager like Buck Showalter at some point in the future.
