"A Feeble Franchise"

ARUNIMA BHANOT/Essencially Sports - “Forever a Feeble Franchise” -

Opening Day is almost here and every MLB team is finalizing its final roster ahead of the big-long season. While most big names will have a sure place, the fate of some players is still uncertain. The New York Mets, for one, are making their intentions clear about some of their prospects. Things aren’t looking good for Brett Baty and Mark Vientos as of now.

Baty is currently the no. 2 prospect on the team, while Vientos is no. 8, according to MLB Pipeline. Baty has put up good numbers ever since getting selected in the 2019 MLB draft. The third baseman finally made his debut in the big leagues last August, homering right on his first at-bat. Meanwhile, Vientos has consistently put up good numbers and had a considerable improvement this spring training.

And yet, the Mets have decided to option both players to Triple-A. Safe to say, the Metsies are not happy.

So much for going with the best 26 players.

I agree.but isn't this always the way.regardless of who owns or manages this team?

Being a Mets fan is getting really old. I guess they want all strong years until free agency. No growing pain time with the Mets allowed.
