BA announced some of the recent Mets cuts that they never make public: RHP Tony Armas Jr., RHP Joe Hietpas, RHP Sendy Vasquez, LHP Eddie Camacho, C Jason Jacobs, C Sean McCraw, 2B Junior Spivey, 2B Jose Valentin, OF Joe Holden… sad to see McCraw gone… Sean was Josh Thole’s wingman and lost his job to Josh last year in Lucy when he went into a slump… wound up back in Savannah, hoping to turn things around… probably got caught up in the numbers of Thole going to B-Town, Pena having the money invested in him, and Abruzzo having a good bat.
This does clear up the catcher situation a little… I’m expecting the Savannah staff to be Luis Allen, Jean Luc Blaquiere and the B-Met squad is Josh Thole, Sal Paniagua, and Mike Nickeas (I can’t believe he made the cut over McCraw)… that leaves three out of four (Robinson Cancel, Rene Rivera, Omar Santos, and Gustavo Molina) for Buffalo and three out of six (Francesco Pena, Rafael Arroyo, Jordan Abruzzo, Dock Doyle, Tony Macanni, or Ralph Henriquez) for Lucy.
I saw this morning that the Milwaukee Brewers signed C Sean McCraw… good… I hope he comes back to haunt the Mets.
