while at first Id amit to feeling cheated and totally pissed off at this pick, especially after reading Mack's thoughts, I must say right now I've definatly calmed down a lot and come to terms with this pick. I can't help but think about who the Mets have in their front office now, three bonafide GMs who know what they're doing when it comes to the draft in Alderson, DePodesta, and Riccardi. I kinda feel at this point that they really believed that there was definatly going to be extreme talent at 44 when it came to pitching and so they were intent on grabbing who they thought would be a legitament impact bat in 4 or 5 years in Nimmo. I look forward to the next few years and hoipe to see this kid proving a lot of people wrong. His story would be a great one, especially for New Yorkers, if he ends up being something special. Do you think that Brandon Nimmo was a good pick, I don't. Check out my Mets blog, it's called "NJmetfan".
I had Nimmo as the 7th outfielder to be taken, as the 36th overall pick, in the supplimental 1st round, so I wasn't that far off.
I think he's a great choice in the second round.
I'm old school.
I wanted one of the blue chip pitchers that were still available.
I can't believe I'm not writing about Jed Bradley this morning.
I also like ballplayers that come from a high school that has... a team.
Call me strange.
