Marquez wants to get his college degree, but if the lure — and contract — are right when the draft has come and gone, his education plans may be put on hold for a while. After all, scouts have been following him since he was a freshman. “Bradley is a very, very gifted athlete,” Odessa High head football coach Ron King said. “And one of the best things about him is his work ethic. “You saw it when he was working hard to get back from the elbow injury because this was going to be his senior year and he didn’t want anything to go wrong. And he’s so good in baseball that the sky’s the limit for him.” Marquqez, though, has his feet firmly planted on the ground, enjoying his senior season and knowing he has the best of both worlds in front of him. Coaches from Texas Tech have made recruiting trips to make sure he’s still intent on signing with the Red Raiders. Meanwhile, teams from around Major League Baseball continue to send him correspondence on a weekly basis. “It’s a fun process,” Marquez said. “I didn't really go through all the recruiting stuff, so it’s nice to have someone from Tech come down and talk to me and my family and let us know what’s going on. “Now, it’s just a matter of being able to balance things, and I think I can do that.” http://www.oaoa.com/sports/marquez-7487
