1. Zack Wheeler RHP
6-3, 180 - Dallas, Ga. - Drafted 1st round 2009 by San
Francisco
2010 - A-ball - 3-3, 3.99, 58.2-IP, 70-K
8-7-11: - Stock Up – Wheeler passed his latest test with
flying colors: 6.0-IP, 4-H, 0-R, 7-K, 0-BB. He now has 102-K in 92.0 innings
and it’s becoming obvious that he will easily move on the Binghamton at the
beginning of next season. What a great trade.
10-15-11: - I moved Wheeler ahead of Matt Harvey… he simply
is the top prospect right now.
1-27-12 – The Mets have pretty much confirmed that Wheeler
will begin the 2012 season in Binghamton, though cold weather may delay that
for a few weeks.
3-8-12 - • Wheeler
pitched in an intra-squad game on Thursday morning and Mets coaches were
“highly impressed” with everything dished up. He was basically unhittable
including shattering a bat with one of his fastballs
4-19-12 – It’s becoming quite obvious that Wheeler is the
steal of a deal. He looks to have that rare SP1 talent every club desires.
Remember, there are only 30 SP1s in the world and at least five of them at all
times should be SP2s… meaning, there are 7,000,000,000 in the world and 25
pitch like this guy.
