We all know who virtually every hitter who will make the team as they break camp.
Juan Soto? I think he’s safe. Frankie Lindor, too.
But prospects, and guys on the bubble?
We're already three spring games in, so let’s find out:
BAD START:
Kevin Parada 0-2, 2 Ks on Saturday….BUT HOLD ON RIGHT THERE…a hit and walk with no Ks on Sunday for Mr. .333 Parada, so beware judging anyone based on one game. Myself included.
Alex Ramirez 1-6, 4 Ks. No the start he was hoping for.
Jett and Clifford each 0-3. But it’s SO early.
IMPRESSIVE STARTS:
Yonny Hernandez: 2 for 2 and 2 walks. We’re just wild about Yonny.
- Who’s Yonny? Whaddya mean, who’s Yonny?
Click on the Yonny video: YONNY!
Brett “I have a rippin’ new SUV” Baty: 3 for 5. Torrid.
- He wants to park the new SUV in Queens a lot this year.
Gilberto Celestino: 3 for 4. Mama Mia, that's a nice a start!
Simon Juan: 2 for 3, HR, 4 RBIs. A 3 run ABSOLUTE BOMB!
- He is the most productive of the two Juan’s so far. Just sayin’
Nick Morabito: 1-2, and of course a steal. SO many steals, no felonies.
DONTCHA LOVE IT? BASEBALL IS BACK!
Well, maybe one guy wished they waited a few more days...
NICK MADRIGAL DISLOCATES HIS SHOULDER ON INFIELD PLAY
Ouch.
How long will he be out? We'll find out soon enough.
It does not help him compete for a roster spot, that's for sure.

That was some shot by Simon Juan. And great to see Baty get off to a fast start. It’s so good to have baseball back.
If Baty can only figure out how to hit that low/inside off-speed pitch, he will be a pro. He still has made no adjustment to that pitch. Hope he can learn...I'm rooting for him.
Adam, the only thing I did not add on the Simon Juan shot was that it was off of a hanging breaking ball. But he still had to hit it. And he hit a bomb. Nice.
The time is now for him to figure it out.
