Tom’s Tidbits: Now THAT Is How It Is Done

HAPPY WARMER WEATHER, EVERYONE.

Mets prospect catcher Ronald Hernandez was off to a glacial start with the Cyclones.

HE HAD THE DREADED BAT CHILL FACTOR.

Before his last 5 games, he was hitting .125 (5 for 40).

THAT is slow.

Then, the last 5 games, he raises his average a mere 151 points to .276.

How?

An 11 for 18 tear. THAT’S HOW.

He and his Brooklyn teammate Carson Benge are hotter than firecrackers.

Carson was hitting.200 after his chilly game on April 23.

Since then? A blazing hot 14 for 30, to rise to .307.

Why waste time adding more than 100 points to your batting averages?

If you can’t do it in a week, why bother?

THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE!

(It warms up, they FIRE UP)

With Rampaging Reimer on the Cyclones, too, that squad is hitting!

A Brooklyn rarity.

Brooklyn is averaging right around 6 runs per game. That is a WOW.

Not to leave the Bklyn pitch staff out, 15-8, 3.15, 12 Ks per 9. Outstanding.

The lineup in Brooklyn looks like an A+ level all-star lineup

That Adam Smith said...

Some of the guys in A and A+ predate Stearns, but we're undoubtedly starting to see the results of a FO that knows how to evaluate talent, and a development program that knows what to do with it. The future is bright for this org.

Good stuff in Brooklyn. One of the Carolina teams always seems to hit best, my guess being a hitters park in obviously warmer weather. But this team feels like it is scoring twice as many runs as last year
