Dillon Gee was good but the Mets offense was bad for the 2nd straight day as the Mets lose 1-0 for the 2nd game in a row. Mets enter a part of the 2015 season where runs are hard to come by. Something that doesn't change until the Trade Deadline and the return of David Wright at the end of the year.
National Pastime.com: The Nationals blank the Mets at Citi Field, 1-0, on consecutive days, marking the first time in 19 years that a road opponent has recorded 1-0 victories against the same team on back-to-back days. The Cardinals last accomplished the feat in 1996 when they held the Phillies scoreless, scoring lone runs in the April 19 and 20th contests at Veterans Stadium.
NY Mets: Mets’ shortstop agony: Tejada botches double play, too. "Ruben Tejada got his second straight start in place of the struggling Wilmer Flores, but he wasn’t immune to the defensive woes that have plagued Flores. Tejada was unable to turn a routine double play in the first inning, leading to the game’s lone run in the Nationals’ 1-0 victory Sunday at Citi Field...Dillon Gee (0-2) set a Mets record with his 51st straight start of five innings or longer, surpassing Dwight Gooden’s mark."
