LAST GAME: Binghamton rallied to tie New Hampshire at five in the bottom of the eighth with a Sean Ratliff solo homer, only to see the Fisher Cats take the lead and win 6-5 in the ninth with a Darin Mastroianni RBI single at NYSEG Stadium Monday afternoon. Chris Schwinden made the start and was charged with five runs over five-plus innings, exiting after permitting back-to-back homers to Shawn Bowman and Eric Thames in the sixth. The bullpen was flawless until Roy Merritt allowed a pair of one-out singles in the ninth, leading to Mastroianni, who singled off John Lujan to provide New Hampshire the win. Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 2-5 with a double and Mike Nickeas drove in a pair of runs with a double in the third inning, which tied the game at two at the time. Adrian Martin was credited with the win despite blowing the save after hurling 2.2 innings of one-run work. Vince Bongiovanni nailed down his first save, stranding two runners on base when Michael Fisher flied out to center.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mike Antonini will seek his fourth consecutive quality start tonight at New Hampshire. He limited the Fisher Cats to a run on six hits and struck out a

career-high nine over six innings July 10 at NYSEG Stadium, but did not factor in the decision. On the year, Antonini is 5-7 with a 3.93 ERA over 105.1 innings. He is fifth in the league in innings pitched, fourth in WHIP (1.13) and first in BB/9 IP (1.62). Antonini went 7-5 with a 5.32 ERA over 25 appearances spanning 115 innings last year with Binghamton. He was the Mets’ 18th-round choice in the June 2007 draft out of Georgia College & State University.

RHP Rey Gonzalez is due to make his third start with the Fisher Cats tonight. In his last time out, July 8 at Portland, he worked seven, strong innings, allowed two runs on six hits and beat the Sea Dogs for his first win with New Hampshire. Gonzalez is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA over 12 innings. He opened 2010 with Las Vegas (AAA) and struggled to the tune of a 6-6 mark and a 9.18 ERA over 82.1 innings. Gonzalez gave up 138 hits over that span, meaning PCL hitters hit him at a .374 clip.

Last season, he went 4-6 with a 2.90 ERA in 17 starts with the  Fisher Cats spanning 93 innings.
