I May Be Wrong, But…
1. Right now, the Mets do not have a 2012 first baseman. Yeah I know, Ike will be back and I keep watching that video and I just don’t see the injury. It’s like that grassy knoll theory. Anyway, on paper, the 2012 Mets have no first baseman and no Jose Reyes. So, what if Davis goes under and there is complications and Jose bolts for Los Angeles? Call 1-800-Albert.
2. So, what if that happened? Ruben Tejada becomes the shortstop, Your 3-4-5-6-7 is Wright, Pujois, Duda, Murphy, Bay. Do you know how many home runs Duda could hit batting after Albert?
3. Davis has to be able to get you at least a blue chip outfield or catcher prospect that can start off in AAA and eventually replace either Jason Bay or Josh Thole.
4. Then, no one steps up and offers Beltran more than two years, so the Mets step up with $10mil a year for 3-years, with a team buyout in the third. Now, you have a 2-3-4-5-6-7 of Murphy, Wright, Pujois, Beltran, Duda, Bay.
5. Johan comes back strong in the spring and leads a rotation of Neise, Pelfrey, Dickey, and Gee. Jenrry Mejia is put on a program to return to the majors on opening day 2013, while Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia comes to Queens during next season’s all-start break.
6. Shit… just woke up…
