Syndergaard became the 2nd Mets pitcher to hit two homers in a game. Walt Terrell was the first to do it. His HRs came against Fergie Jenkins of the Cubs in Wrigley Field on Saturday August 6, 1983.

Mets lost a rain shortened game in May 11, 2006. Steve Trachsel gave up single runs in the 1st on a Chase Utley HR and in the 4th on a Shane Victorino double and David Bell single. The big play of the game happened in the top of the 1st when the Mets had their best scoring opportunity. With the bases loaded and 2 out, Xavier Nady drove a ball to deep CF that Aaron Rowand caught running face first into the chain link fence.

McMillan double. Lou Brock’s
2 run HR tied the game at 3 in the 7th and Tim
McCarver’s bases loaded groundout drove in the winning run in the 8th. Mets had 1st and 3rd
with one out in the bottom of the 9th but Joe
Christopher grounded into a double play to end the game. |

when David Ross bats out of order, making an out in Corey Patterson's place in
the lineup. The very confused umpires eventually make the correct call, telling
