The B-Mets finished up their Spring Training schedule on Thursday afternoon with a 9-2 victory over the Springfield Cardinals in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The win was the B-Mets 6th straight and moved them to a 7-1-1 record.
Right-handed starter Dylan Owen got the win for the B-Mets. He went five innings allowing only one and surrendering one earned run. He was a little wild as he allowed five walks during his outing. Nick Abel relieved Owen in the 6th inning and surrendered a run to one hit while striking out one. Edgar Alfonzo, John Madden and Jon Switzer combined for three perfect innings. Alfonozo and Switzer each struck out one batter while Madden struck out two.
First Baseman Lucas Duda and Designated Hitter Josh Petersen both went 2-4 in the game. Duda was part of a four run 4th inning with a two RBI single. Petersen brought him home with a two-out double. Catcher Mike Nickeas also went 2-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Center Fielder Frank Diaz and Third Baseman Emmanuel Garcia both added hits and RBIs in the 7th inning for the B-Mets final runs. Other B-Mets to make a dent on the scoreboard for the B-Mets were Shortstop Ruben Tejada and Left Fielder David Wabick. Tejada was 1-3 with two walks and three runs scored and Wabick was 2-5 with a double and two runs scored
